I teach computer science at the University of Chicago. I joined the University in 1998 and have served the Department of Computer Science as its associate chairman and director of the Professional Programs. My research is focused on datamining and database applications. I have developed and taught a number of new courses ranging from medical informatics to information technology as intellectual property. I have extensive experience as an independent consultant on matters of information technology patents, learning and development, IT strategy, and corporate education.
