I totaly agree with the aforementioned article. I am Greek, I have lived in Greece for my whole life and spent 8 years in Greek universities (1 geology, 6 Syrveyor Engineer, 1 postgraduate degree in Water Resources, A.U.TH). This article is 100 % true.
I want to supplement that lessons in Greek universities have a too academic (not practical) approach. For instance in the lesson about property laws the professor had been teaching us about Marxist theory for individual property! As a result Greek graduates are ill-prepared for exerting their professions
This is why 90% of students does not support sit-ins but does nothing to stop them either.

I am writing an article about the resistance of private universities in Greece for the Athens News (in Ohio). I don’t get why students and falculty are violently opposing article 16. Don’t they want a better education? What are they afraid of?

Yeah, I thought that Poshard’s statement just made him sound like an idiot. Can you imagine the president of the University of Chicago coming up with something like that? (Of course, I’d guess that the higher-ups at your school probably wouldn’t be dumb enough to plagiarize from a GW Bush speech in the first place.)
